The First Christian Church will now have only One Blended Worship Service with Sunday School starting at and the Blended Worship Service starting at .
“A Rainforest Adventure”—Vacation Bible SchoolAug 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, 6:30-8:00p.m. 3 yr old-5th Grade. Registration in the Foyer this morning or take forms home and bring back to VBS tonight. Everyone will meet in the sanctuary. Please enter thru the South doors of the church.

Youth Trip—MONDAY August 9th church youth will be going to White Water Bay in Oklahoma City. For details check with Paul Shore.
Garage Sale- Faith Discovery Class will be having a garage sale Aug 13-14. Donations will be appreciated, and can be brought to the church anytime now. Contact any class member for information or to make donation.
B2SB (Back To School Bash)-hosted by South Central District Youth. Aug 28, 2010, Hillside Christian Church Wichita, Ks 6:00-10:00p.m. $7, check with Martin for details.
Bible School Needs: Check the bulletin board in the NE corner of the sanctuary for what is needed. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Food Bank Needs Help: Very much needed is rice, catsup, dry beans, sugar, dish soap & matches. They canalways use canned goods, cereal, juice, canned meats and meat soups. Children will be collecting food items during Bible School for the food bank too. You can help them with this project as well.
2010 Christian Church In Kansas Regional Assembly—October 22-23, 2010 Ramada Inn, Salina, Ks. Registration forms available in church office. To receive Early Bird discounts, registration must be in by Sept 20th.
Children’s Clothing—Operation Blessing House needs children’s clothing. Especially school children’s size clothing is needed this time of year. Our supply is very low and the need is very high. Please bring your donations on Monday morning or Wednesday morning. Your help is always appreciated.
Grass is Growing! Volunteers are needed in August and September to help keep our church yard looking it’s best through the growing season.
Can You Help?—Operation Blessing House workers work on Monday & Wednesday mornings. If you can help, please talk to Virginia Bickel to get details and let her know when you are available. This is a wonderful mission project to be involved in and there is plenty of work for everybody.
Challenge: The “God In You” bible study group has taken on the challenge of praying for 140 days for our Nation. As we are instructed to do in II Chronicles 7:14. This challenge has been issued by Dr. Charles Stanley. We are extending that challenge on to each one of you. To accept this challenge and to get information to help you thru the 140 days you can go to intouch.org. This is what we as Christians can & should do to fight the evils that are plaguing our nation. Join us , please, and lets turn the tide in America.

Special Offering for Microphones—An unexpected, but required expense has occurred, due to FCC regulations. The cost was $1600. If you can help cover this expense please make a special donation marked “microphones”.
Mailing Addresses—If you’ve moved this summer or are headed to college, please notify the church office so we can keep in touch.
Email Address—We have the technology and we need the addresses. Please give your email address to the church office in writing or by sending us an email at fccwellingtonks@sbcglobal.net. Your help with this cost cutting and efficient way of communication will be appreciated.

Quilts Needed – The Silver Circle has been hand quilting for the past 101 years. A group of dedicated ladies meet each Friday to continue that tradition. However, they are running out of quilts needing to be hand quilted. Do you have a quilt top that needs quilted or know someone who does? Then contact Leola Frost (you may call church office for number) to get your na0me on the list.
Church Library “reorganization” is Complete. Directions for checking a book out a returning it are posted in the library. There are many new books and lots of resources for Bible study. New books “In the Presence of My Enemies” and “To fly Again” by Gracia Burnham are now in the Library.
Hospice Care of Kansas – needs your help. Volunteers are a very important part of the team approach to the care and comfort of our patients. Volunteers help create a caring environment
for both patient and the family. As a volunteer you might provide respite for a caregiver, read to the patient, or just talk and become a friend. If you are interested in being a part of the hospice team in our community contact…Virginia Cobb at 620-326-3619

If You Need a ride to a doctor’s appointment or a hair appointment, someone to pick up a prescription or a package, or changed a light bulb or a few items from the grocery store, you will find help available. Several women in the church are offering assistance as a “Care Chain” to meet these or other similar occasional needs for assistance. Anyone interested in this help should call the church office, and Alberta will contact someone on the “Care Chain” or provide a number for you to call.
